What are the costs for insuring my goods and what happens if something is damaged?
Premier Van Lines provides insurance through ACIS Cargo Insurance of London, backed by Lloyd's of London. The cost for our Full Value Replacement Insurance is $25.00 per $1000 of value you place on your shipment. You are required to purchase a minimum of $6.00 per pound of coverage based on the actual weight of your shipment.
Example: a 3000 lb. shipment would require a minimum of $18,000 of coverage.

Example: a 3000 lb. shipment would require a minimum of $18,000 of coverage.
This policy has a $500 deductible. You can purchase above the minimum and it is recommended that you insure the entire value of your belongings. Coverage is only available for full service moves and we are required to provide all packing of shipments for this coverage.
We also provide total loss coverage for the do it yourself moves and self packed moves. This means that coverage kicks in when there is a total loss due to an accident involving the trucking or the ocean vessel sinks. There is no coverage for breakage or damage due to loading or packing. The cost for this coverage is $18.00 per $1000 of valuation and there is no deductible for this coverage.
Prior to your move date, we will send you an application form to fill out where you will list all your items and list the value of each item to come up with a total coverage required.
